This is Banchi (above). Mike found her in a barn during a guided pig hunt (yes, pigs) and the
owner of the property did not want this litter of puppies and the mom dog.
Mike was able to sweet talk her out of the barn with some tasty jerky. She was
not happy with this "abduction" but soon learned to love us and the pig farm was
a thing of the past.

This is Buster (above). I found him when I was driving down a dirt road in Michigan, in January 2002.
It was a very cold day, bone chilling. Up ahead in the road was a black dot to which I
assumed was a crow or turkey buzzard. As I got closer, the "dot" looked funny...
not a bird, but a PUPPY. This little thing was booking down the road as fast as his little
legs could go.

I got out and got on my hands and knees and started that ga ga goo goo talk that we all
do to puppies and babies. The puppy turned around and RAN right to me. Could not
believe it. I stuffed him in my coat and took him home, fed and bathed him and that
was all she wrote. At the time of this writing, he is over 15 years old in good health but
I know his time is very near. Update: He passed June, 2017.

This is Boomer (above). We found him in the road back in September 2016.
He was rumored to be running with two other dogs (one of which got hit by a car and
did not make it) for about a week before we caught him. Apparently local residents and
Animal Control had live traps out to catch these vagabonds, but as far as I know,
only Boomer left his life on the streets. We really did not want any more dogs but what the heck,
we are nuts!  And Boomer is just a sweetie.
